Trinity vs. Tufts

What a great day to be a Bant!!! With a big game against the Tufts University Jumbos, the Bantams brought their best effort and came out on top 14-11. It was a tight game all through the first half and the Jumbos held a 1 goal lead going into halftime. Coming out fired up, the Bantams got back on the board just 15 seconds into the second half with a goal by senior attacker Clare Lyne, assisted by junior attacker Abby McInerney. They then went on to outscore the Jumbos 7-3 in the second half. Our attack worked so well together today - they were moving the ball quickly to spin the Tufts defenders around and finding each other in the middle of the 8meter. Our attack was led by junior Grace O'Donnell (3 G, 2A, 1GB), sophomore Mary French (3G, 2GB, 1DC), junior Abby McInerney (2 G, 2 A, 5 DC), and senior Clare Lyne (2G, 3A, 2 DC). It was fun to watch our attackers jelling together so well on such a big day!
One of the keys to our success this day was our ability to come up with the draw. It is always essential to grab the ball off the draw control so we can get it into our attacking end. We got 16 of the 27 draw controls on the day, picked up 13 ground balls, and caused 10 turnovers. Zoë Ferguson saved 7 of the 18 shots she faced.
Tufts was one of the teams the Bantams lost to last year, so it was great to get that redemption and beat them this time around this year!

The Bantams didn't have time to celebrate or think about how tired they were after this game, as they faced Wheaton the very next day.
